When nothing seems to fit anymore,
and I don’t mean the clothing you wear each day,
or the life that you lead right now.
And nothing seems to make much sense either.
Where it feels like up may be down
and right is turning left.
When you are constantly feeling out of place.
As if you’ve lost the connection to the real world,
but haven’t yet managed a connection to this one.
Everything you see, touch, hear, smell or taste
just seems to be slightly off.
Unfamiliarly familiar, commonly uncommon.
Your surroundings seem new.
Yet you know that you’ve been here before,
and have experienced it a thousand times.
The family you have and the friends you know,
seem not to be the friends and family
that you remember anymore.
When the familiar seems lost,
and the unfamiliar is found.
And you don’t know what’s what.
Perhaps it’s just because
you are no longer
the you that you were.
Maybe what was known
has become unknown,
on its way to becoming known once again.
Perhaps it is God
leading you in His own way.
Into another place.
A place you’ve never been before,
but now a place
you should be.
