Her Eyes

Her Eyes
Her eyes drew me in
And I saw directly
Into her Soul
And what I saw
Enthralled me

Without a Shadow

No one owns his or her own life.
Everyone, no matter how insignificant,
has an effect on someone else.
Just as a stone sends out ripples
when cast into still waters.
A person whose life
doesn't touch another life
is a person without a shadow.

Dawn

first I hold your hand
as we lay silent
as the dawn
words are told
in your eyes
we will stay silent
as the dawn

A Musing About Time

A Musing About Time

Time. It always seems to be that there is always too much or too little for something or other that we want to do, see, feel, or hear. Time is something that we all must deal with in our lives for the good of it or otherwise. Time can be all consuming for some and yet others constantly show us that for them time hardly exists. For those that are consumed by it, the clock is the centre of their universe, every aspect of their existence revolves around the number of hours, minutes,or seconds that are showing on the face of their clock.
'Man' time can be so very different from 'God' time. I do not think that time for God would bear any relation to time as we might know it, or even think of it. Man lives with these three primary divisions of time, the past (that which has happened), the present (that which is happening), and the future (that which will happen).
But what about God, I think that his reality is that such divisions are not applicable. He already knows everything that has, is, and will happen, to everyone and everything everywhere. I think that the best way to express this is that for God his reality is 'now'. If He wants to, He can experience all of it, our past, present, and future but all at once. For God there is no past or present or future, as separate entities, it's all rolled up into one. God is NOW, always present, always here.

Left Behind.

Sometimes, in the night I feel it,
    near as my next breath.
And yet, untouchable.
Silently the past comes,
                        stealing, like the taste
of some forbidden sweet.
    Along the walls,
    in shadowed rafters.
    Moving like a thought
    through haunted atmospheres.
Muted cries and echoed laughter.
Banished dreams,
that never sank in sleep.
    Lost in love,
    and found in reason.
Questions that the mind can find,
no answers for.
    Ghostly eyes
    conspire treason
as they gather just outside the door.
Every ghost that calls upon us.
Brings another measure
in the mystery.
    Death is there,
    to keep us honest.
    And constantly remind us
    we are free.
Down ancient corridors
and through the gates of time,
run the ghosts of days
that we left behind.

Harmony of Life

There is a moment of every song when the inward questions, searchings, and dismay wholly vanish. Hearing the voices singing, old and young, treble with childhood or rusty with age, losing oneself in the great affirmation, losing all sense of self as a separate searching, questing entity. One can rest, floating, in the knowledge of being part of the greater power which maintains the motion of moons, stars, sun, and the unknown universe beyond. There we have a true place in the harmony of life.

A Tiny Seed

IMAGE: A TINY SEED IN THE STREAM OF LIFE

From the throne of God flows the Stream of Life, it flows down from the Heavens onto and into the earth on which we live. While it is flowing it reaches out to people wherever they are, whatever they are doing, it reaches out to them and nourishes that which is in all of them. A tiny seed, something so small in some that they have no idea that there is anything existing within them..
But no matter how big or how small, it is something that is being fed and nurtured within them.
This person might not know in the beginning that anything is there, but God does, and He is making it grow, God is feeding this seed all that is required. Whatever is needed is supplied, whatever is asked for is received, and it grows.
This tiny thing is called by some the Spirit of God,it is something that everyone of us begins life with, deep inside. Whether it grows deep within is dependent on us, on whether we will recognize it for what it is and allow it to continue, to flourish within.
Dependent on whether we will allow the Stream of Life to soak into us, through our pores, through our eyes and ears into the core of our being, our lives. This is something that must be done in order for it to survive, to live in the ways spoken of by our God. This is something that we must do to survive as something of God. Not only is this seed within us growing and growing, we ourselves are also to be considered a seed that is growing in the same manner. Being fed, being nurtured, growing in the ways that He wishes.
In this way we grow in the ways of the Lord, becoming stronger as needed. We mature in the ways of the Lord because of what He is doing, what He is feeding us, allowing our roots to grow, looking for more of the nourishment that will allow us to flourish in our existence. Because of what He has done, and what He is doing, we are able to put out our roots into the Stream of Life, and become anchored in the word as it flows around and through us. We will grow to become tall, straight, and strong. We will come to be a stabilizing influence to everything and everyone around us. We can become that force that holds the land together, we can become the shade that will give comfort to those that are in need of it. We will become the shelter looked for, something that can protect whatever or whoever comes within our sphere of influence.
We have the potential of becoming that stately old tree that so many come to admire and love. We become what God has wanted us to be from the very beginning, we become what God has ordained for us in the very beginning.
Now in our maturity we will also find ourselves beginning to shed tiny bits of ourselves into the world around us. Let's say that that these tiny bits of us are our seeds now, our spores spreading out away from our being. They don't necessarily need to be our actual physical born children, they might also be our spiritual children as well. Those that have become part of us through association or influence. These are our seeds and they are spreading out into the world by means that are not always under our control. All we can do is watch as they go, spread out beyond our influence by any means that God might feel necessary to get them to the place where He wants or needs them. By there very nature there is within them something of us, our tiny seed, our tiny spark.
Now these tiny seeds or sparks will now be opened to receive what they will from the River of Life wherever they might end up. What happens then is up to them. They have moved away. They are becoming or have become what you were in your beginning. And with whatever you have managed to instill into each one, they too can begin a cycle of life and living such as what you have done and are doing.
The potential is there for such a cycle to become infinite in its growth. For this growth to become a small copse of trees, then a small wood, and from there a forest and beyond that a great forest. There is the possibility to cover the entire surface of the entire surface of the world with growth of all sizes, in all stages, bringing unbelievable strength and stability to every place.

The Pulpit Art

The Pulpit Art

LAYER ONE:
This layer shows some of the names of GOD. This is the foundation of this piece.
I have elected to use ADONAI, YHWH(Hebrew spelling), IMMANUEL(the original
spelling), and YAHWEH.
All names that are familiar to all those confessing to being Christian. God is there.
We know that He is always there, yet we seldom actually see Him directly,
because He is GOD. Overlaying this is a gold veil

LAYER TWO:
Here, this layer is representing the SPIRIT OF GOD. Here I have put the words,
BREATH of GOD, GLORY of GOD and WORD of GOD, all representative of
GOD'S SPIRIT. Things that come to us from God, the food with which we are fed
and nurtured. Things that give us our lives, things that teach us how to be like Him.
Overlaying these words is a silver veil.

LAYER THREE:
On this layer is represented the SON OF GOD. Here are some of the names that I
have chosen to represent God's Son in this piece.
BELOVED, LIFE, PRINCE OF PEACE, LAMB, CHRIST, ALPHA, OMEGA, RABBI, KING, CORNERSTONE, LORD, SHEPHERD, FIRST BORN, CHOSEN, MORNINGSTAR,
HOLY ONE, and JESUS. There are many more that are not here.
This is the level that is closest to us. This is the level that is clearest to us, here we have a direct connection so we can deal direct. There is no veil, there is no separation,
there is only the Son and us. It is through the Son that connections are made.
In this piece is the
TRINITY, THREE IN ONE,
the reason for this piece being titled:
'THREE'
