We have been taught through history of a loving Christ who came to bring mankind love and peace, gentleness and forgiveness, tolerance and charity. A simple carpenter, who spoke in parables and defined beatitudes. And that He died a horrible and gruesome death so that we (mankind) might be redeemed through His infinite mercy.
Where is that teaching today? At times there seems to be little of it in the big churches of Christ today. It seems where men have too often grasped power and have negated or annulled the role of Christ, designing and redefining the words and will of God to suit their own ends in the name of orthodoxy and consigning all others to eternal damnation just because their opinions differ.
